What it actually is
Section titled “What it actually is”Claude is not a search engine. It doesn’t look up answers on the internet in real time. It’s a language model — a program trained on a massive amount of text, which has learned to understand and generate language in a coherent way.
In practice? You talk to it, it responds. Like a conversation, but with someone who has “read” an entire library and never gets tired.
What you can do with it

- Summarize a long document
- Ask you questions to help structure your thinking
What it is not
